5 Card Slingo Adventure combines poker-playing strategy with hot slot machine action much like the original Slingo Quest worked with Bingo.  It’s a bit tougher this time around, but what else would you have expected?

The game takes you through five locations and 25 tables where the objective is to score enough points to clear them.  Here’s how it works:  Spin the slot to deal cards and then place them on the board wherever you choose, always trying to play the best hand.  You can make poker hands in rows, columns or diagonal. With the ensuing spins you must continue to build poker hands, but knowing that some spaces are no longer available.  This means that you must carefully place all cards strategically to give you the best chance possible of creating successful hands around the entire board.

It would be great if you could take your time and really think about these placements, but there are three things working against you.  First, each time you spin, there is a countdown timer that pushes you to move quickly or the slot spins automatically again.  Second, you can only place a card within the column it falls in.  It cannot be moved over.  Finally, there are only a total of five spins to create as many hands as possible.  If you’ve met the required score, then you do get the opportunity to purchase extra spins to improve your score, provided you have enough points, but if those needed points are not gained to begin with, the game is over.

At the start of each table, a card or two can be designated as being lucky and if these are used on the board, they reward you with extra points.  This is quite handy to know especially if you’re hurting for points, something that happens commonly in the latter tables.  An additional motivational tool is the fact that you can also win certain achievements on each table.

5 Card Slingo Adventure also includes a Quick mode to score as many points as possible on one table.  This is for quick pick-up-and-play but you’ll find that even in the Quest mode this is still possible.  The controls are one-thumb and allow you to remove a card prior to spinning again if needed, but remember there isn’t much time to make up your mind.  It’s an entertaining game, one that appeals to players of the original Slingo, or poker players for that matter, but don’t expect to be blown away.
