Bounce Out Ball-o-Rama is the new game in the hit puzzle series full of bouncy goodness.  You might consider it a typical Match 3 game of sorts but with the new features added to this version, it offers a variety of all-new ways to play.

The game offers five separate modes, each with a distinct theme that pays homage to classic vending machines of old that once dispensed all kinds of goodies for a nickel. (Think 1950's comic books that some of you players may have gazed upon during your younger years.) With these themes, the game captures a nostalgic feel that fits just right and each theme presents a different way to play.

Space Ranger has you clearing a given amount of balls within a time limit.  Blue Sea Divers puts you underwater in an attempt to keep balls from reaching a threshold for a certain amount of time.  In Jungle Adventure, a specific number of balls must be removed but every time you swap a ball, new ones are added that make the entire group get perilously close to the top.  Sky Divers is all about getting to the high score posted within the time limit and in Road Trip, each swap must result in a match.

Each of these games seems easy at first with the inclusion of special balls like as Multipliers, Exploders or Wildcards, but eventually the will get tougher.  I even had a hard time just trying to get past the first level of Sky Divers!  So make no mistake, you'll start off thinking it's a breeze but be prepared to eat crow.

The game mechanics are easy to control since all you need to do is select a ball and swap it with any of the surrounding balls.  It's very point-and-click with the phone's D-pad and very much the same with the iPhone touchscreen.  The graphics are nice, about as good as you can get considering it's just a bunch of balls, but the theme illustrations are cool.  I will say that the sound effects can be a bit annoying on the feature phone but they are quite more effective on the iPhone version.

Bounce Out Ball-o-Rama has a total of 50 levels with Trophy achievements to unlock, so there's quite a bit of fun to experience. The variety of game play goals available is quite welcomed even though the playing mechanics are kept the same. I really like the fact that there are very little differences between feature phone and iPhone versions, namely graphics and audio, so that bodes well for a fun experience across all handsets. Not many other games can make that claim.
