Chef Peter Pepper has been quite busy lately, already making his second appearance on mobile with BurgerTime Delight.  This again is a take on the classic arcade game but now also features an enhanced version to make it more challenging and entertaining.

Fans of the game will remember that the objective is to help the chef assemble huge burgers by walking over and stacking the ingredients.  At the same time, he must avoid all of the food baddies like Mr. Hotdog, Mr. Egg and Mr. Pickle or eliminate them by smashing them with a falling ingredient.   A dash of pepper will also stun them temporarily, but it’s always important not to lose sight of the objective.

Arcade mode offers the original game in full form including the throwback graphics and sound.  This is great for those who want to experience the game as they did back in the day.  In Enhanced mode however, the game is upgraded with new graphics and also introduces a few new twists including two new enemy characters, Mr. Garlic and Mr. Carrot, with new attack methods.

Perhaps the biggest difference in this Enhanced mode is that it includes food-themed backgrounds that further increase the challenge.  That’s because you’ll find yourself running around in freezers, ovens and dishwashers (to name a few) that include the inherent dangers of the location.  For instance, while in the freezer, not only must you pay attention to the baddies, but also to continuously falling icicles, or in the case of the oven, make sure you stay away from the heating grills.

One final addition in this mode is a word collection mini-game where players must collect letters and spell three words, PETER, DINER and BURGER. These allow you to earn extra lives and automatically clear the level.

BurgerTime Delight also features three difficulty settings plus the ability to play against a friend with pass and play.  These further add to the experience of classic gaming for mobile at its best.  If you’re in the market for another well-rounded and solid game from a bygone era, pick this title up.
