Little Shop of Treasures is the latest in the growing list of hidden object titles made available to mobile gamers. As with all games of this nature, it challenges players to find specific items in a cluttered environment within a certain amount of time.
In the game, you’ve just blown all your cash to set up shop in the city of Huntington. With no money left to fix up the building however, you decide to help out other local businesses and raise the needed money. It will take a couple of weeks helping out customers in various locations such as a pawn shop and at estate sales, but eventually you’ll earn enough to really spruce up your own place and create a successful store.
Within each different location, you’ll find more than 300 distinct objects that customers are looking for. Simply search, point and click to make the sale. There’s no need to go through a list since customers will pop up and let you know what they are looking for, but you’ll have to do so quickly in order to serve all of the required clients before time runs out to move on to the next stage. If you serve more than the required amount, you’re awarded service stars.
As you continue through the weeks and locations, difficulty is increased by having to serve more customers within a shorter amount of time. There is some help however since players can click on a Hint button to see a photo of what the product is and whereabouts they can find it. Only three hints are available through the stage but if you locate a well-hidden Question Mark, an extra hint can be gained.
At the end of every week, you'll see your building get up to code with improvements such as new windows, a nice paintjob, and even an extra floor. What’s more, after each week, one of the locations you’ve helped at becomes available in the Blitz mode. Here, You must find all of the objects as quickly as possible and set new records.
Little Shop of Treasures is captivating, as all games of this type are, and delivers a polished experience. It’s very smart in that objects continuously relocate, dependant on stage and week, and even more so in the fact that they change in appearance, so a Lantern in the hardware store doesn’t look like the Lantern in the import shop. This keeps you guessing, and in the long run with good detail and decent illustrations, also keeps you playing.
