Million Dollar Spin is an original game show mobile game that blends elements from the highly successful Wheel of Fortune and the classic Press Your Luck (remember no Whammy, no Whammy, STOP!?). It’s quite a unique concept whose main task is to solve over 200 visual puzzles from Outside the Box Puzzles by Alan Morgan.
Basically, you’re a contestant on the show and the objective is to advance through three rounds and win more money than your opponent. The first two rounds consist of a puzzle phase and spin phase. In the puzzle phase, a dollar amount is attached to the Outside the Box Puzzle that must be solved in alternating turns. The longer it takes, the more letters are revealed to solve it. The first to guess it wins the dollar amount and control of the spin phase.
In spin phase, there are seven spins to the wheel that also contains money amounts. When a player spins and lands on a dollar amount, that is added to the Pot. The player can bank that pot at any time and if this happens, control of the spin goes to the opponent. If the player does not bank, he continues spinning and adding to the pot to make it grow. At anytime, if the spin lands on Bust, the pot loses all the money and control goes to the opponent for any remaining spins.
After the two phases, the Last Chance round begins where the player with the least amount of money goes first. The player spins until he hits Bust, or grows the pot large enough to overtake the dollar amount of the leader and banks it. The previous leader will then get his own chance at trying to overcome the new leader. Whoever busts, loses and waives goodbye to the crowd. The winner then goes on to the Million Dollar round to try and win, yep, a million dollars. Note however that there aren’t any real money prizes.
As long as you continue to win you will accumulate career money and you might even be invited back to a Tournament of Champions. Once you lose though, you’ll start from the beginning again. This isn’t too bad since the opponents are usually fairly easy in the beginning, but do get tougher later on.
What’s cool about Million Dollar Spin, aside from having a fresh and authentic game show feel, is it allows you to employ strategies to keep your opponent down. The puzzles can be tough at times too, and once you tire of taking on the computer, you can also engage a friend in Two-player mode. For more fun, Party mode is available and this presents puzzles for everyone to solve.
